The City

Current Era
Modern Day (2010+)
Effect
The entire city has running water, heating, air conditioning, and electricity. Modern day weaponry, supplies, drugs, and such can be found in their matching districts.

1. Residential District
This district is the only place in the entire city that has actual houses and apartments. While deserted and a bit run down, all of them have at least basic furnishing, with more to be found scattered around or in other places.

Alongside the houses and apartments, there are a few empty buildings with no real indication of what they originally seemed to be.

This district appears to be unaffiliated, and is completely safe; there are no monsters in it nor can any come into it. The walls are of a dizzying height and stretch all the way down to the river. They are also impossible to climb -- anyone who attempts find that no matter how long or hard they climb, they can never reach the top, and upon looking down, never go more than a few feet higher than the ground. However, characters can swim around the walls by going far enough out into the river, if they so chose; for some reason, monsters never seem able to do this.

2. Run-Down Cathedral
The walls around the building are, unlike the ones around the district past it, only about the average height of a human and easily climbed. Inside of the walls is a large stone building that appears to have been a cathedral at some point. Only the bottom floor is searchable, as all the doors that lead both up and door are firmly locked and cannot be broken down, forced, or picked.

The first floor's tapestries are tattered to the point of being unable to tell what was originally on it, and the glass stain windows have faded to that point as well. The pews, surprisingly, are completely in-tact, as is the preacher's stand and the carpets, but there isn't a single holy icon of any faith to be found anywhere.

Manny can always be found here, either "summoned" by someone calling his name or simply idling on the first floor. For some reason, though they may gather around, monsters can never go past the outside gate of the cathedral.

3. Broken Bridge
This bridge was originally the second (dry) way into the residential district. However, something appears to have broken it violently in the middle, making it useless except as a meeting point or a dead end. Any attempts to fix the bridge fail, and the gap is always just large enough for any jump to completely miss, with the jumper not even able to catch the other side.

4. Unknown District
The district just past the bridge appears to be unaffiliated, though monsters of all three alignments can appear here freely. The buildings in this district appear to have once been shops and are stocked with the bare necessities for humans: food and water, mostly, though one can occasionally find very sparse survival clothing. While they are in limited supply, at midnight of each day, the stores seem to "restock" themselves mysteriously with the same amount each night.

5. Chattur'gha's District
This district belongs to the Might Ancient Chattur'gha, and is full of monsters allied to him. The overall area of the district is rugged and requires some effort to transverse.

The stores and buildings in this district are mostly filled with weapons and work-out equipment, with some sparse clothing stores. A few select buildings appear to have once been clinics or hospitals and are stocked with various first aid kits, but beyond anti-biotics, all of the chemicals (such as painkillers) can't be found anywhere.

6. Xel'lotath's District
This district belongs to the Insanity Ancient Xel'lotath, and is full of her creatures. Merely being in the area causes strange whispers or feelings to press at the back of your mind, which only those of a strong will or those with a firm grip on their sanity can ignore.

Most of the buildings appear to have been vanity stores of varying kinds, having jewelry, designer clothing, or various type of luxury furniture. A few select stores appear to have once been drug stores and possess all kinds of mind-altering chemicals, both good and bad (such as tranquilizers, painkillers, alcohol or LSD).

7. Ulyaoth's District
This district is a land of the Magic Ancient Ulyaoth, and his crystalline creations can be found wandering here. The area has an odd buzz of energy and a few simple illusions, so those traveling here must be aware of their surroundings to navigate well.

Most of the buildings seem to have been various bookstores, music stores, or varying recreational technology. While some is fried beyond use, others are completely intact and functional, and still others seem to possess some type of magic within them, though exactly how it works is a mystery. There is no network of any kind that can be connected to, internet or otherwise.

8. Docks
The only place in the entire city that appears to have been set-up to cater to boats. The docks themselves are completely empty of any sort of transportation or parts to make boats, though records and fishing supplies can be found around here.

Despite being a link between the two halves of Chattur'gha's district, the docks appear to have a small number of monsters, equally split between all three Ancients.

∞. Outside the City
While characters are free to leave the city, all that's outside of it are inhospitable wilds, deserts, and chaotic rivers or oceans. There is no sign of any supplies or civilizations, and after enough wandering, a character will find themselves back at the edge of the city itself.
